Which cannabis products are tested by MA Analytics?
All including, but not limited to: Cannabis flowers, cannabis extracts, and cannabis-infused products such as capsules, concentrates, edibles, tinctures, salves, and topicals.
Which testing and screening services are offered by MA Analytics?
Visual inspection, moisture content analysis, microbiological screening (aerobic bacteria, yeast and mold, aspergillus, Salmonella and E coli), mycotoxin screening, potency, terpenoid profiling, residual solvent screening, heavy metals, pesticide screening, pH, water activity and homogeneity testing.
Does MA Analytics Labs screen for bacteria and other microorganisms?
Yes, including pathogenic Aspergillus, E. coli, and Salmonella typhimurium.
Does MA Analytics screen for cannabinoids?
Yes. We test for and quantify the 10 following cannabinoids:

Does MA Analytics screen for solvents?
Yes. Because solvents that are used to produce potent cannabis concentrates (e.g., butter, hash oil, shatter, wax) pose health risks to patients, we test for residual amounts of these common solvents:
  • Butane
  • Propane
  • Heptane

Does MA Analytics screen for pesticides?
Yes. Active ingredients in commonly-used insecticides, miticides and fungicides can pose health risks to consumers. They include compounds such as bifenazate (in Floramite® and other products), abamectin (in products such as Avid®), myclobutanil (in products such as Eagle® 20) as well as natural and synthetic pyrethrins. Please contact us for more information.
Does MA Analytics screen for heavy metals?
Yes. As required by the State of Nevada, we test for concentrations as low as one part per billion of arsenic, cadmium, lead and mercury using Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS).
Who is allowed to submit cannabis samples to MA Analytics for testing?
Licensed dispensaries, cannabis growers, product producers, and those who are allowed by law may submit samples for testing. Please contact us to learn about the procedure for submitting samples.
How do I submit samples to MA Analytics for testing?
Local pickup is available in Clark County, Nevada. Contact MA Analytics to arrange for prompt service. To help ensure accurate test results, samples from different plants must be isolated from one another in individual containers. We recommended you use these:Flower: Static-free bagsConcentrates: Sterile syringes or containersEdibles: Retail package, bag, vial or other securely sealed container. Butter and oil samples must weigh 2 grams.
How large of a cannabis sample does MA Analytics Labs need for testing?
Sample amounts vary by the number and types of tests we’re conducting, based on the following guide. Contact an MA Labs service rep for assistance.

Is an MA Analytics certified sample 100% safe for consumption?

Please note that our certification only applies to the contaminants we specifically test for. Other unsafe elements that we do not screen, such as allergens, might be present. As a result, we cannot assure 100% safety.

What are the safe and recommended dosages for medical cannabis?

MA Analytics only provides analytical testing and quality assurance screening. Be sure to discuss effective and safe dosages with your prescribing physician or qualified healthcare professional.
